My name is Anwya Oraha Khananya. I was born in Nineveh- Iraq and I arrived in Australia on the 1st of February 2018 as a refugee under the humanitarian program. I have worked as a school principle for over forty years. I am a member in the disability project advisory group established by Foundation House. Soon after arrival, I started attending English classes and I am in level 1.
I have obstructive hip dysplasia. I need special custom shoes. I live with my family and my wife is a full-time carer for our daughter who has a significant disability. My hobbies are exercise, walking, reading, writing (short stories and poem) and fishing.
Anwya will be joining the session “Working with people with disabilities” on Wednesday 20 February from 1.15pm – 2.45pm.
