Born in the Philippines, Ella moved to Australia with her family in 1981 when she was a young girl.
Ella is the current CEO of Migrant Resource Centre where she commenced in 2015. Prior to this, she spent 8 years as Regional Manager, Department of Premier and Cabinet. Her career has mostly been in management roles in economic and community development.
Prior to taking up the position with the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Ella worked in local government, the private sector and community-based organisations, and as a freelance consultant while completing post graduate studies.
Ella has been a director of Refugee Council of Australia since May 2017. She also sits on a number of working groups in an advisory capacity relating to resettlement, health, education, employment and skills development for former refugees.
She lives Launceston and is married with three children.
