Expressions of Interest for Visual & Performing Artists

The Refugee Alternatives conference organisers are seeking expressions of interest from artists wishing to exhibit or perform at the forthcoming conference on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th February, 2018.

This will be a curated exhibition, which can include screen-based work, visual arts and live performances. This opportunity is intended for pre-existing work. An artist fee will be available but will not cover the production of new work. The organisers will cover any costs associated with installing the work.

Selection process

  • Priority will be given to people with lived refugee or asylum seeker experience.
  • There are limitations with the space, which may preclude the inclusion of some work.
  • The selection panel will aim to balance the inclusion of as many artists as possible whilst also being mindful to ensure the integrity of each individual work.

For questions, or to discuss your submission, please contact Charlene Edwards charlene.edwards@unimelb.edu.au or on 0466 771 001.

Expressions of Interest are due Wednesday 13th December
