Asylum Seeker and Refugee Assistance (ASRA) Program is funded by Qld State Government and involves 7 key organisations in Qld providing emergency relief and other essential supports for people seeking asylum.
We are hosting an information session on Friday 14 February in S413 room. This will be a great opportunity to meet the ASRA team, ask lots of questions and learn more about our collaborative approach to support people seeking asylum through outreach hubs in Brisbane and regional areas.
The Queensland Government has provided total funding of $3.568M to Communify Qld to lead a collaboration of 7 agencies providing support for people seeking asylum from the legacy caseload in Queensland. This funding made available through the Dept Local Government, Racing and Multicultural Affairs, recognises the collaborative efforts of the asylum seeker sector, and some of the resourcing required to meet unmet needs of this cohort. This collaboration provides case coordination delivering emergency relief funds, health advocacy, support for vulnerable TPV and SHEV holders and support in the areas of mental health, employment, housing and legal coordination.
