Vicki Mau is National Manager – Migration Programs at Australian Red Cross. This portfolio incorporates programs supporting “migrants in transition”, including people who are seeking asylum; in immigration detention; facing destitution; who are vulnerable to exploitation; victims of trafficking; or who have been separated by war, disaster or migration. Red Cross also runs a wide range of social cohesion, community education and community development programs around Australia. Vicki is also co-Chair of the Red Cross Asia Pacific Migration Network.
Prior to working with Australian Red Cross, Vicki spent the last 20 years in a range of roles with Australian and international agencies working mainly with refugee communities across the Middle East, as well as managing technical expertise programs in sub-Saharan Africa, working in cross cultural education and advocacy in Australia, and undertaking post graduate study in the Middle East and Australia, researching human rights frameworks in the Arab and Muslim world.
