Yosief Araya works with Catholic Crosscultural Services as the director of the Refugee Sponsorship Training Program (RSTP) – a national program funded by the Canadian government, which provides training and support to groups that sponsor refugees. He has been working in the field of refugee sponsorship for the last 14 years and offered presentations in various cities across Canada and Europe. He has volunteered with various organizations. He was a founding board member of Lifeline Syria, a co-chair of a working group of the Canadian Council for Refugees. He has served an elected representative of the Canadian Sponsorship Agreement of Holders and an advisory board member of Brottier Refugee Services. In his private capacity, he was involved in the sponsorship and settlement of refugees.
